Steps for an FMC license lookup
Start in the FreightWeave OTI directory. If you have it, enter the six-digit FMC organization number. Otherwise search by legal name, trade name, license number, or location, then open the matching profile.
- Confirm identity. Match the organization number and legal name; check any trade name and location before using the result.
- Keep identifiers distinct. The organization number identifies the record. Read the license number as a separate field; a foreign-registered NVOCC may have an organization number without a U.S. license number.
- Read the record and dates. Review classification, license and renewal fields, register presence, and the displayed source/check dates. Open the public record for "A" PACIFIC EXPRESS, ENTERPRISES for any dated bond, tariff, or notice details available.
- Verify current status with the FMC. Check the official FMC OTI list ↗ and the FMC’s license status changes ↗. The FMC says the OTI list should be used to determine whether a license has been reissued.

If the company name does not match
Try the legal name and any trade name shown on the shipping document, then compare the address and exact organization number. Use the NVOCC list or ocean freight forwarder list to narrow the role. Do not combine similarly named companies into one record.
When a company appears as historical or a field is missing, keep the stored source date with the result and check the official FMC record. The data status page shows when FreightWeave last checked each source; a source check date and a license or bond effective date describe different events.
What this lookup can and cannot establish
FreightWeave brings together public FMC source fields and separately checked list or notice results. It is a dated lookup aid, not a live FMC determination. A missing value shown as Not listed in this source, or an absent result in one check, is not by itself an adverse finding.
